Portfolio

At the end of the semester you will present a portfolio of ten images taken during this course which demonstrate your work and integrate class concepts. It is intended that this be an ongoing, independent project during the semester wherein you choose your theme (leave a comment below selecting or describing your proposed theme), get it approved by me, and then creatively apply what we have read, discussed and experienced in class. No two students can choose the same theme. You may only use two of your midterm prints in your final portfolio. Your presentation of your portfolio to the class should include a discussion of your photographic intention, composition, exposure, and the Lightroom/Photoshop enhancements used. At the time of your presentation you will submit (via Angel drop box) a powerpoint presentation of your images. The best portfolios will demonstrate

  • the breadth of your talent as a photographer
  • care and concern in both the capture and subsequent enhancement of the image
  • a unifying purpose or intention (see possible themes below)
  • integration and utilization of class lessons, readings and demonstrations in your presentation
  • a thoughtful and professional presentation (including submission of powerpoint)
